I utilized the iconic painting of the 19th Century Master Juan Luna’s Espana y Filipinas. The allegory of Spain and the Philippines is framed inside the shape of the shield from the Coat of Arms of the Philippines at the turn of the 20th Century.
The calligraphic figure Mother Spain is pointing at is the ancient Philippine script called ‘Baybayin’ of the initials ELF, Eugenio Lopez Foundation.
